StarOffice 8 ships with "Andale", "Thorndale", and some other fonts that 
are metrical compatible to the Windows fonts "Arial", "Times New Roman" 
and so on. They look similar and are viable replacements.

Nevada and other Solaris releases come with true "Arial", "Times New 
Roman" and some more.

Just have a look at /usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType for Solaris 
TrueType fonts and /opt/staroffice8/share/fonts/TrueType for fonts added 
by StarOffice.
