For the SUNW audiohd driver, look for messages in /var/adm/messages containing the substring "audiohd". The "vid=...." in the "codec info" line is the hardware id for the HDA codec (in my case it's an Analog Devices AD1986 HD audio codec) genunix: [ID 936769 kern.notice] audiohd0 is /[EMAIL PROTECTED],0/pci1043,[EMAIL PROTECTED],1 audiosup: [ID 176880 kern.info] NOTICE: audiohd0: codec info: vid=0x11d41986, sid=0x00000000, rev=0x00100500 I think you must have one of the HDA codecs that the audiohd driver recognizes, because the driver can be opened...
