Hello,

I have very limited experience to Solaris Sparc system. I am eager to know how
to better use Network Management Port.

Currently, I am using Serial management port to control the SunFire V215 blade
server and it works greatly.

Now, I want to to control another one that is far from my office through its
Network management port . I use Putty to communicate with its network
management port and I can successfully login to the System Controller and do a
lot of things like power on/off through the sc> prompt. However, at sc> prompt,
after typing "console" , all subsequent key presses do not have any response. I
do not get any key response but I can press #. to switch back to sc>.

Only using Network management port has this issue, Serial management port
doesn't.

I am wondering why? How do you guys control the network management port? is
there any limitation using network management port? Is it the reason why people
buy Console Server?

Tom
