Actually, the announcement of the build being pulled was made on Dec.
3rd along with a note that "It should be resolved by tomorrow
morning."

On Dec 4th, an announcement was made that the build was still on hold
while some reviews were completed and to please wait.

Since you use the forums, you may not be aware that that they are
actually just a "view" of a mailing list. In other words, you can't
really "update" announcements in the proper sense since the forums are
merely a gateway to a mailing list. While you can edit posts on the
forum, many members choose not do so and use the mailing lists
instead.

In part, this is a limitation of the technology used for the forums
that will be resolved in the future.

Sufficient communication as to a delay was given via the
opensolaris-announce mailing list for those that are subscribed and
was also available to those who subscribe via the forum or who use the
forums and monitor it regularly.

As I mentioned before, a followup post was made on Dec 4th with the
reason as to why:

For various reasons, that information may not have been available or
permissible to announce on Dec. 3rd. Sun has over 30,000 employees at
last check and not every individual knows the reasons for certain
decisions, only that a decision has been made.
