I am not much of an X person but I'll take a stab at this.
First thing I did was look in /etc/X11
# cd /etc/X11
# ls -lap
total 22
drwxr-xr-x 3 root other 512 Dec 26 09:43 ./
drwxr-xr-x 77 root sys 4608 Dec 26 09:43 ../

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2207 Sep 9 15:47 .xorg.conf
drwxr-xr-x 2 root other 512 Nov 20 11:32 sysconfig/
I don't think that the .xorg.conf file I see there is of any value or not.
Sorry .. blind leading the blind here.
Let's look in the man pages :
# ls -la /usr/X11

User Commands xorgconfig(1)
NAME
xorgconfig - generate an xorg.conf file
SYNOPSIS
xorgconfig
DESCRIPTION
xorgconfig is an interactive program for generating an
xorg.conf file for use with Xorg X servers.
Note that the default name used by xorgconfig for the
xorg.conf file is system-dependent. For instance, on some
systems, xorg.conf-4 is used, and on OS/2, XConfig is used.

X.Org Last change: Version 6.8.0 1
So you need an xorg.conf file .. probably in /etc/X11 and you use the
xorgconfig command to create it.
I put a web based copy of the xorg.conf(4) manpage here :
http://www.blastwave.org/man/xorg.conf_4.html
I never look at it much .. sorry. Generally I install Solaris and it just
works .. for the most part.
> 2. How to detect the network card, if it not assign at the installation? the
> logical name on linux is eth0, what is on Solaris
Generally there is a driver that *should* get loaded automatically during
installation. There are still some oddball cards/NICs out there that are not
automagically supported.
Run the following command to see what you have for NICS:
# ifconfig -a
lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232
index 1
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
e1000g0: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 2
inet 192.168.35.33 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.168.35.255
ether 0:c:29:b8:17:42
or possibly you will see this :
# ifconfig -a
lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232
index 1
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
bge0: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 2
inet 192.168.35.239 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.168.35.255
ether 0:d:60:14:d8:a4
you may end up with a whack of NICs and zones also :
# ifconfig -a
lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232
index 1
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
lo0:1: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232
index 1
zone pkg
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
bge0: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 2
inet 192.168.35.4 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.168.35.255
ether 0:3:ba:59:6b:39
bge1: flags=1000842<BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 3
inet 0.0.0.0 netmask 0
ether 0:3:ba:59:6b:3a
bge2: flags=1000842<BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 4
inet 0.0.0.0 netmask 0
ether 0:3:ba:59:6b:3b
bge2:1: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 4
zone pkg
inet 66.225.151.249 netmask ffffffe0 broadcast 66.225.151.255
bge3: flags=1000803<UP,BROADCAST,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 5
inet 10.10.10.169 netmask ff000000 broadcast 10.255.255.255
ether 0:3:ba:59:6b:3c
or something real simple .. and old :
# ifconfig -a
lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232
index 1
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
qfe0: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 2
inet 192.168.35.123 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.168.35.255
ether 8:0:20:88:6b:82
lo0: flags=2002000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv6,VIRTUAL> mtu 8252
index 1
inet6 ::1/128
The ifconfig command is your friend here.
If you see a NIC with some name like hme0 or bge0 or hme0 or qfe2 or
whatever then you have some network hardware detected and a driver loaded.
You cna a *little* more information with :
$ modinfo | grep bge
138 7b64e000 13260 202 1 bge (BCM579x driver v0.53)
So that is the driver module for the BroadCom gigabit ethernet driver on a
machine I have here.
On a different machine I may see :
# modinfo | grep qfe
129 7bbac000 15878 309 1 qfe (10/100 QuadEthernet Drv v2.53)
so it all depends on your hardware.
Try ifconfig -a plumb to probe for every network hardware thing supported on
your machine and see what you get. I don't recommend this but it does work
thus :
# ifconfig -a plumb
ifconfig: SIOCSLIFNAME for ip: qfe0: already exists
# ifconfig -a
lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232
index 1
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
qfe0: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 2
inet 192.168.35.123 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.168.35.255
ether 8:0:20:88:6b:82
qfe1: flags=1000802<BROADCAST,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 4
inet 0.0.0.0 netmask 0
ether 8:0:20:88:6b:82
qfe2: flags=1000802<BROADCAST,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 5
inet 0.0.0.0 netmask 0
ether 8:0:20:88:6b:82
qfe3: flags=1000802<BROADCAST,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 6
inet 0.0.0.0 netmask 0
ether 8:0:20:88:6b:82
hme0: flags=201000802<BROADCAST,MULTICAST,IPv4,CoS> mtu 1500 index 3
inet 0.0.0.0 netmask 0
ether 8:0:20:88:6b:82

lo0: flags=2002000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv6,VIRTUAL> mtu 8252

#
Take note of the ether addresses on cards with multiple ports or on Sparc
hardware. You can easily end up plugging multiple ethernet cables into one
hub or switch that all have the same physical MAC address. That can wreck
havoc.
You may need to setup a NIC with a separate ethernet MAC address like so :
# ifconfig qfe3 192.168.35.214 netmask 255.255.255.0 ether 0a:00:20:01:02:03
# ifconfig qfe3
qfe3: flags=1000802<BROADCAST,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 6
inet 192.168.35.214 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.168.35.255
ether a:0:20:1:2:3
#
you can configure a NIC with its netmask and MAC address in one swoop like so :
# ifconfig qfe3 down
# ifconfig qfe3 192.168.35.214/24 ether fe:ed:de:ad:be:ef
# ifconfig qfe3 up
# ifconfig qfe3
qfe3: flags=1000803<UP,BROADCAST,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 6
inet 192.168.35.214 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.168.35.255
ether fe:ed:de:ad:be:ef

> 3. How to configure the source to add software ( a-la-apt-get of debian)
ah geez ...
well you can get open source software from lots of places. If you are from
the Debian world then you may want to look at Blastwave.org where you will
find a familiar "unstable" tree and a "stable" tree as well as pkg-get which
does what you expect it to do. Be sure to install the pkg-get software
correctly and then you will be laughing :
see http://www.blastwave.org/howto.html
Make sure that you choose if you want the "stable" tree which only shifts
once every three months at most. You may also want the "unstable" tree in
which we pump out software as fast as we can. It took days and days to
create the new gzip package because we tested the hell out of it and
benchmarked it and then scrapped the 64-bit binaries because they were not
any faster and then dropped it into the "unstable" tree. Then it gets pushed
out to all the software mirrors.
Be sure to install pkg-get correctly and then drag in the catalog.
Setup your pkg-get.conf file in /opt/csw/etc/pkg-get.conf like so :
# cat /opt/csw/etc/pkg-get.conf
#
# typical pkg-get.conf file by Dennis Clarke at blastwave.org
#
# default location in United States - note the "unstable" at the end
url=http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/packages/solaris/csw/unstable
#
# If you have a Squid cache proxy or whatever then use lines
# like so :
#
#ftp_proxy=http://192.168.35.7:8080
#http_proxy=http://192.168.35.7:8080
#export http_proxy ftp_proxy
#
#
# If you want a more or less permanent record of every time you pull
# the catalof then do this :
PKGGET_DOWNLOAD_DIR=/var/spool/pkg-get/pkg-get.$$
#
#
# To disable use of gpg or md5, uncomment these
#use_gpg=false
#use_md5=false
Then you fetch the catalog :
# /opt/csw/bin/pkg-get -U

That is a trivial example. You have gzip in Solaris anyways but its older :
# /bin/gzip --version | head -4

# /opt/csw/bin/gzip --version | head -3
gzip 1.3.12

You can later do an update of ALL software with /opt/csw/bin/pkg-get -u
among other things. Any questions ?

eeerk ... ummm .. no not really. Not even multiple consoles like you are
used to with Linux. You can drop to a text console if you want but for the
most part you are in graphics land or you have to ssh into the server.
Any other questions ?
