Refer to the Sun Hardware Compatibility List http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/
The list lists a number of supported devices. If you have shortlisted some model, if possible run the Sun device detection tool on that machine http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/hcts/device_detect.jsp This will tell you what hardware is supported on that particular machine.
