I have developed an application that displays SVG charts, and it runs and displays the charts correctly under Linux with Firefox 2.0. But when Solaris clients connect, they are either asked to install the SVG plugin or it just does not work. My question: Does anyone out there have Solaris workstations running Firefox 2.0? And do they work fine with SVG charts?
I am using Firefox 2.0 running on Solaris 9 and 10. Both workstations say they have embedded SVG enabled (I can see it when I go to about:config). I searched for a mimeTypes.rdf file, to see if it said anything useful, but in the Solaris 9 instance there is no mention of SVG of any kind in the mimeTypes, so I don't know what to do. I had seen a suggestion that I tell it to associate SVG+XML with any executable, and then remove it, and it would clean itself up, but that did not work either. Has anyone at all had success with using SVG with Firefox 2.0 on a Solaris box? Or does anyone have any proof that the embedded SVG in Firefox 2.0 for Solaris works?
