Something AFAIK nobody's mentioned: given two things, a
stable way to get the latest SXCE with a URL the only variable part
being same as the snv_xx (the uname -v, I think), and a stable URL
ending in latest.txt, which would simply contain the value of the
latest build available, one could script downloads automatically,
complete with one's login and password, and put them on a cron
job. (ok, maybe a third thing, a URL similar to the first, but with the
md5 of the image in it, so one could script the validation of the image)

Then one could on a biweekly basis, check if a new version is available; if it
is, download it, verify it, and given enough disk space, use Live Upgrade
to set up an alternate BE such that one could then just reboot at leisure when
it all finished, to try the new build. If it worked, great; if not, then just
go back to booting off the previous build.

For anyone who had the space and bandwidth, that would make frequent
updates relatively convenient once they had all that set up. More people
updating more frequently would in turn mean higher value to feedback,
testing, bug reports, etc. So there might be some benefit to Sun as well in
enabling this to be done.
