I cannot recommend to use cpio in general. It is marked deprecated by POSIX
because the cpio archive format cannot be easily ehnanced for the future
without breaking compatibility and it has a lot of undocumented "features".
The way it deals with hard links during the past years was wrong. From looking
at the source, it sems that with build 82 my proposed fix has been included
in cpio......
Note that copying trees with star instead of cpio is much faster.

man mkisofs
use -r or -R, Rock Rodge schould always be used.....
