A quick calculation of throughput based on your screenshots shows less than 800 kiB/s. That is very low.
Currently I get about 7.5 MiB/s using CIFS, and that is still too slow for me, even though it is 10x faster than you are getting. Using ftp, I can get a transfer rate of over 90 MiB/s (over 10x faster again) so I would like to see one of the file sharing protocols reach better speeds. A speed of at least 40 MiB/s would be nice. WinXP Pro was capable of serving at that speed on the same hardware so it is very possible.
