Well, we've got several customers (who put out a newspaper every day using 
their systems, so they do get used) who've had uptime over 500 days.  The 
highest I personally saw was 915ish days.  I'd installed the system (e450 w/Sol 
6 & Sybase 11.0.33) and they just left it alone until I came back to upgrade 
it.  The HA paired system had a RAM module die and "only" had 600+ days of 
uptime at that point.

See, I tend to agree somewhat (it's like not bathing), but at the same time, 
there is something to be said for the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it crowd."  
In supporting customers, I'd rather they just leave it alone than try to patch 
a production system without having a reason.  I have to fix systems much more 
often from human error than I do from just leaving things alone from a sys 
admin perspective.  (Especially when you introduce cluster into the mix).
