This forum is about opensolaris; can you re-test with a reasonably
recent OpenSolaris build, and make a crashdump from that available ?
With OpenSolaris' tool set, you cannot even open the Solaris 10 crashdump
you're having - it's slightly difficult to help you with S10 issues here.
If you've got only one CPU, it's possible to starve the system using
realtime threads. How exactly the resulting "hang" will look like depends
very strongly on what your RT processes/threads are doing. Compute-bound
RT threads on a single-CPU machine _will_ hang you, so can you be a bit
more specific on:
- why you use RT
- how you use RT
- why you think it's an operating system problem
Also, generically if this is a "need to deploy fast" question, is it
acceptable to run your software on a multiprocessor machine, within a
dedicated processor set (so that it can't starve others) ?
And as said, please test on OpenSolaris,
