Which of the OpenSolaris distros are you using?
If you're using Nexenta then this tutorial might
help:

It's for debain, but Nexenta uses the same package
system.
I moved from one ISP to another, by creating two accounts
with Outlook (or another mail client) and copy them.
Even it's a large amount of emails - you will be on the
save side.
