Yes - the verbose mode gives the detail required - specifically the PCI ID of the network chip. From looking on the web, it seems that the chip on you motherboard may be an Intel 82556DC, which is supported on Solaris Express since build 58. Can you run the following command on your SXDE installation:
ifconfig -a plumb and post the output here? This should hopefully show 4 interfaces: 2 local loopback interfaces (lo0 for IPv4 and IPv6) and your 2 ethernet chips. Cheers Andrew.
