My ATI x700 does, after upgrading to the build 90 update which should be
available this week on pkg.opensolaris.org, since build 90 adds the
DRI support for ATI R300/R400 series chipsets (approximately Radeon 9000
through X850). After the upgrade I was enable to turn on the visual
effects and have compiz load, but there were some drawing glitches that
made me turn it back off after about 15 minutes. Perhaps on a real
graphics card instead of a laptop chipset it will fare better (my x700
is a Radeon Mobility x700 in a Acer Ferrari 4000 laptop).
