One more thing to test ... Some motherboards that I have had the pleasure to know, did not manage to Warm boot from Windows to Unix , be it FreeBSD or Solaris , with a working NIC at the end of the process. Probably Windows does not reset the NIC in the shutdown process. I always had to COLD boot Unix by turning off the power ( i.e. unplug it ) .
