taskman, provide a bit of info for folks to work with maybe. 1. post your output for "uname -a"
2. are you running a system installed from "sxce" that would be an .iso named something like "sol-nv-b94-x86-dvd.iso" or is it an "opensolaris" distribution named something like "osol-0811-93.iso". 3. download the checksum file for your unbootable DVD and check it in terminal with some thing like "md5sum sol-nv-b94-md5sum-x86.txt" where the second part is modified for the specific md5 file name 4. post the output for "df". this will help folks understand what file system you are using ie ufs or zfs 5. if you are on an open solaris system with package manager, I would strongly suggest figuring out how to use live upgrade or beadm to make a new Boot Environment. this gives you a second chance if the update does something borkey and is unbootable. 6. fyi. anything after build 86 (2008.05) is not outdated but rather is developmental and can have bugs sometimes big ones indeed you might want to consider sticking with b86 until November when the next Stable version is due and instead grabbing a copy of Netbeans and having some fun, eh? gl. hope i ve been of some help sgk.
