Sure, if there's a clear consensus that's the case. However, you'll see people calmly stating "gnu tar is broken" and other people (like me) saying it's the only tar I like to use, since all the others I've tried seem to be feature-deficient. Whatever the "brokenness" supposedly is, it hasn't bothered me. (If somebody wants to enlighten me in direct email, I'm willing to know more.
