Thanx for your answer :) The system is fine, worked for years with an older Solaris 10 release, same software stack. I reinstalled from scratch with a 10/08 , when we decided to change disks and implement some new stuff. May be that I need to update firmware bios for this grub release? (older one was still booting Sun boot loader). A part from this issue, I actually have another one...but don't think they are linked together. We're testing virtualization through normal virtual box (host solaris, guest solaris). We're not using containers for many reasons I won't go through. I already had a vbox host running on windows xp, guest solaris, that run smooth. VBox on Solaris seems to have many problems, when guest is again solaris. The system often slow down to a point of becoming useless, so I have to reboot xvm, or even reboot the entire hosting machine (and here comes the grub issue...). I've verified that the virtual machine is very slow accessing the file system, that is a vbox hard disk file formatted as ufs (zfs under vbox has many problems...don't know why...). We're running Solaris 10/08 on V20z's without problems so far. You may want to check your hardware to make sure it's OK. Did you upgrade this system from an earlier release or is this a clean install? Best, Hans NL
