BTW: the star case was approved as ARC case in 2004. Star was expected to appear
in Solaris 10 already and of course before gtar was integrated. The problem was
that the person who initiated the star integration case did leave Sun after the
ARC case was approved. I have been unable to continue the work with different
people at Sun. For me, finishing the star integration is some kind of
verification on whether OpenSolaris is a project where it is possible to
implement previous agreements - so it is a matter of credibility of the
OpenSolaris project.
