I will do like this: Upon installation of OpenSolaris 2008.06 I will create a user called "root1234". Then I will create a new user "james" that I will use. James will be 1000:1000. And then I will change tank so james owns all files and directories. And lastly I will do 755 on tank. Now my gf will be able to see the files in tank, but not change them. No ACL involved.
But, Ive heard that to be able to search directories, they must have set "x" bit, so directories: rwx r-x r-x and files: rw- r-- r-- that sucks. I must treat files different from directories.
