I can think of two good reasons: 1. No big reason to change the license at the moment. 2. No big reason to kill off a global community project base like OpenSolaris.
There could be reasons, but not major earth-shattering reasons. Hence, why would you capsize your luxury yacht to catch a tiger shark? You get state-of-the art enterprise-grade compilers, OSes, office suites, ISP/ISV support, developer tools, hardware and any other things for FREE if not almost free in some cases. You'd be rocking a boat that will end major funding and contributions all over the world if capsized. I'd consider a decision to end such a 'project' very unwise...
