VB 3.0 Guest Additions are installed. All services are online, both host and
guest. I get a text login prompt. I logged in and checked to see if gdm is

I ran into a similar issue the other day. X server failed to start
(check /var/log/X*). I did Xorg -configure, verified the generated
xorg.conf, copied it to /etc/X11, rebooted, and everything's fine now.
