While I appreciate that you are frustrated, let's not exaggerate the issues. It was possible to perform installs and/or updates though there were significant connectivity issues at times preventing that for many users. Please also note that this past weekend was a national holiday in the US.
In the future, there will be additional mirroring options for those that want to have their own complete, local repository containing the 2009.06 release.
