What build of SXCE are you using? What do you see as output from these commands:
uname -a cat /etc/release SXCE and OpenSolaris are both unfinished "works in progress" and the performance changes radically from one build to another. Read this thread: http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=98800&tstart=15 If you look closely at Scott's posts, you'll see that build 110 of OpenSolaris was 3000% faster than build 109 on the particular benchmark he was running. There are also a lot of regressions that happen during the development process, so a later build number is not necessarily faster than an earlier build number. It also comes down to the idiosyncratic peculiarities of whatever build number you happen to be running.
