@mdemarco

What version / build of Solaris are you running though?

I think Win4Solaris is broken on some of the newer builds of OpenSolaris and
Solaris Express (I said as much in one of my earlier posts). Win4Solaris always
looked to me like it was designed / developed for Solaris 10, yet the
developers foolishly claim on their page that it works with "OpenSolaris" and
it might have worked on older OpenSolaris builds like 2008.05, but I guess
their developers might not have had the ability to keep up with the
revolutionary changes that have been going on in OpenSolaris land.

It's good though that you brought to light the fact that Win4Solaris support
and software development couldn't keep up with the rapid pace of change in
OpenSolaris. I had no idea that it was that bad, since all I've seen were
working instances of everything running smoothly on Solaris 10 (I had been
wanting to be daring and use it on OpenSolaris, but I got in a comfortable rut
once I got Virtual Box to work in seamless mode and just stuck with VirtualBox).

We're very lucky as a community that Sun bought VirtualBox and put energy and
resources into VirtualBox when they did though, otherwise we might be left high
and dry without any powerful Virtualization products to run on Solaris.
