As far as I could understand your target distribution is NexentaOS.
Their target is to build GNU/SunOS distribution comparable to today's
GNU/Linux distros. SunOS is the name for (Open)Solaris kernel.
I think so far is extremely hard to build whole distribution from itself,
but in near future it would be possible, at least for OpenSolaris. We now
have so-called Solaris Express Community Edition (SXCE) which is
capable to build OpenSolaris distribution. But as I said it would change
in next few months because SXCE approaching end-of-life.
My personal preference is OpenSolaris distribution with SunStudio
set of compilers/tools. They are among the best in the industry.
