Ths gui has always been disabled. I rebooted the server and specified -k on the
kernel line. It started out with something "kdm" on top so I assume it started
the kernel debugger. I ran the mkfile command but now it doesn't crash or
reboot, it seems to be just sitting there. The /var/adm/messages file has
nothing written to it. To check if it's even writing I ran the iostat and
fsstat command on another window and I get this output..
with fsstat i am barely getting any writes, very slow. With iostat I get
nothing.

"zfs list" shows that 418MB were written to the filesystem and it doesn't
increase further even though the command is still being executed in the other
window, it's just sitting there
with "ls -l" showing this
