I tried to do this in August and then found that due to a missing feature in "Sun make" and the fact that Sun does not include "smake", the official method to hand in modified values to the build process, did not work. It is really ugly to be forced to modifiy offocial files from the distribution source just because of a missing feature in Sun make. Well, it may be that I found a work around (put .POSIX into the top level make file for Sun make to tell this "make" instance to write the right text into MAKEFLAGS= I did not start again, as I did fetch gigabytes of sources and as I am not sure how stable the build environment from Sun for the external OSS components is.
