This may seem off topic but with the recent discussions about SXDE/SXCE
EOL I figure this may be of value here. I don't know of a venue with more
visibility than this maillist for the issue, therefore here I am.
I am in the process of buying contracts ( its January after all ) and the
subscription and support T&C docs still say :
Solaris and Solaris Express Developer Edition
and on page 5 states :
1. Scope
Under his Service Sun will provide Customer with installation assistance
for the Solaris Operating System and online access to Solaris Named
Releases, Solaris Updates, and Software Updates and other deliverables as
described in Section 2, below. This Service is only available for Covered
Systems. For purposes of the this Service Listing. “Covered System” means
a system for which Customer has provided to Sun the serial number and
other identifying information as requested by Sun and in the manner
specified by Sun. Sun will make commercially reasonable efforts to provide
the Service.
2 Tasks and Deliverables
2.1 Solaris Named Releases, Solaris Updates, Software Updates,
Installation and Configuration Support
etc etc etc ...
I think that with SXCE/SXDE being EOL and OpenSolaris being avail in some
form or fashion for some time now we should have a new T&C doc for service
contracts.
Or am I entirely off base and really the Solaris Express program is being
replaced by a OpenSolaris support and service program?
