As I am well aware.  That doesn't change my opinion that releases should
be timed so as to coincide with Gnome releases and NOT ship with beta
versions of Firefox, or anything else for that matter.

By whom, Firefox developers/fanboys?  I don't know of anyone in their
right mind who ships unstable beta on releases. Those that do need to
have their head's examined.  Developers who want bleeding edge can
always roll their own and have the requisite skills to do so.  Mere
mortal users want things to JFW out of the box.  Moreover, including an
unstable browser that crashes with some frequency spills over to create
a bad taste about OpenSolaris overall.
