In general, the same development teams at Sun work on Solaris & OpenSolaris,
though OpenSolaris also receives contributions from non-Sun employees - both
volunteers and those working at other companies interested in advancing
OpenSolaris (such as makers of hardware that want OpenSolaris support for it
- Intel, AMD, LSI, etc.).

OpenSolaris is the development branch of Solaris, which will become the next
Solaris release in the future.   As is common with most software development
projects with multiple branches, some fixes & features are backported from
the development branch to the stable/production branch (currently Solaris 10).
