The absence of a requested implementation detail in the packaging system is not a valid indicator of a lack of consultation. There has been a significant amount of feedback both solicited and received that has been used when implementing the new packaging system. Just as blastwave.org has been consulted on certain packaging decisions over the years and has chosen a somewhat different path, so has the new packaging system.
