Having a common development path for OpenSolaris and what Oracle likes to sell
as commercial OS would reduce costs and enhance the number of potential users
that later become buyers of Sun HW and customers of any kind of Software from
Oracle.

Fostering a collaboration with the OpenSolaris community outside Sun could
further reduce costs and enhance comfort of the OpenSolaris community in case
that the community outside Sun/Oracle was given a sufficient amount of influence
in the future of OpenSolaris.

However....

If you look at legal cases between various employers and works council at the
labour court, you will see that the German law and courts grant the works
counsil the right to give advice to the employer but the also grant the
employer the right to make decisions that harm the employer......

We are in a similar situation, we can give our advice but this is all. We need
to see whan happens in the near future.
