What filesystem on V480?
How is storage configued on your server?
Boot volume on V480 is UFS.
There are two direct attached RAID controllers each with their own 2Gb fiber
channel interface.
Controller 1 is hardware RAID5, formatted as a single UFS 10TB logical drive.
Controller 2 is hardware RAID5 that has 5 vdevs configured as a 10TB ZFS volume
[This weekend the UFS raid will be reformatted and configured like this.]
I know this configuration is bit goofy, but this system is kind of old and has
been configured by various predecessors.
How fast can you talk to the storage locally from the server?
I'm not sure what you mean by this. The copy speed is between 15-20MB/s. With a
dedicated connection, shouldn't it be much faster?
He means, if you test transfer speeds on the server where the disks are
actually located instead of over the network via ISCSI, what sort of
transfer speeds do you see? What are the speeds if you try from where
the disk physically are instead of remotely?
