I have no intention of slapping anyone, I well aware of the external contributors and projects and think they have done and are doing a fantastic job. I should have written few external coders instead, I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I use ksh93 as my default shell for myself. I just don't think there are enough kernel engineers outside Oracle that can pick up on fixing and improving ZFS, building VM 2.0 etc. Most of the code that is put into OpenSolaris today is from people payed by Oracle, I don't think a branch with ether of Oracle employees or external contributors exclusively will do OpenSolaris any good. Do you think there are willing people and knowledge enough outside of Oracle to continue differentiate OpenSolaris? As I said in my previous mail, I'll wait a bit longer.
