Has anybody tried this? looks interesting, I may give it a shot at it after i 
calm myself down after reading the instructions.

OpenSolaris has an interesting and useful contribution. In his own words: 
"Given that pkg.opensolaris.org/dev has ceased updating, BFU archives aren't 
available anymore, and people seem eager to get newer ON bits, I've put 
together a tarball containing a package depot of onnv_142 + pkg5 + caiman bits 
that should work, and at least slightly satisfy people".
You can grab on-nightly-142.i386.tar.bz2 here and the README file here."
