There's nothing wrong with using linux, or opensolaris, solaris, OSX, or windows, etc. Each one has its own strengths and weaknesses. Each one is better for some purposes. I'm not bashing linux in any way here. I use all of the above for various purposes. If you'd like to discuss the technical merits of each one, using facts and specific details, to explore which situations each one has a strength over the others, and cultivate general knowledge, fine. Not really what I would call "on topic" for this list, but I would have no objections to an intelligent discussion, whether on-topic or not. I'm just saying "knock it off you guys" about all this pointless "Platform A is better" ... "no, Platform B is better" ... bs. Generalization and fluff. Doesn't contribute any information, knowledge, or insight to anybody.
