+1 on the Oracle comments.  Getting them to acknowledge that there _is_ a 
problem is like pulling eye teeth.  In one instance we finally moved off of 
'officially supported' Linux box onto FreeBSD.  Problem solved.  A year later 
client moved off of Oracle to PostgreSQL.
