I use lacp with two NICs on my server, and during seq writes, can nearly fill the pipes, 200mbps. This is with two clients. I have not seen packet loss, but I'm not looking either :).
You can specify the load balancing policy with opensolaris, and I use L4. This way, two clients using the same protocal, connecting to the same IP, in theory, will each get their own NIC.
