If Apple had wanted to do that, they'd probably have been better just buying Sun before Oracle stepped in. Can't really see what great benefit they or their users would get for the huge amount of work involved, though... they already have a pretty solid, certified Unix kernel, they've already got dtrace, and they've already decided they don't want ZFS.
