There are security patches available - just like for OpenSolaris 2008.05,
2008.11, and 2009.06, you can get security patches for 2010.11 by buying
a support contract. The ways things have changed since those older releases:

 - Oracle does not give away licenses to run 2010.11 on a production system
without a support contract, as Sun did for OpenSolaris releases.

 - Oracle does not offer development builds for testing & helping find issues
or develop the code, as Sun did for OpenSolaris releases.

Some people may have used the combination of those last two points as a way to
get free security fixes, but they were always mixed in with the latest
development features and you had no way to stay on a "stable" build and get
security fixes without paying.
