Apparently, having two zpool on the same disk is now deprecated. I have been
using such a
configuration on my home system for several years. In the Solaris (and only)
partition, I am
using slice s0 for XFCE and a second zpool on slice s6 for home directories
and other non-operating system data. I have had no problems doing so and it
gives me the flexiblity of doing a complete re-install of the os without having
to restore the data zpool. This is on an
Ultra 20M2 which supports only two internal disks. (Both zpools are mirrors
using the second disk.) This seems to me a good way of adding reliablity to a
home system.   My question is:

Why are two zpools on the same disk deprecated ? What potential problems may
arise in the configuration describe above ? Apparently the opensolaris
installer does not have the capablility of preserving existing slices, but
surely this is not the only reason for the deprecation, since this capability
exists in the Solaris10 and XFCE installers.
