Incidentally, the live CD does boot up, and internet connectivity does work.
So as a temporary work around, I'm open to taking a corrected "nv_sata" driver, putting it on the net somewhere and, while booted into the live CD environment, downloading that driver from the net, and dynamically inserting into live Solaris (via modload). >From there I would try to initiate an install from the live OS (not sure if >that would work, but might be worth a try).
