Hello everyone. I am on the verge of two dramatic changes in my life. First, I am going to break up with my anorexic MacBook Air. Our relationship is just not meeting my needs. When it comes time to get down to it, she's all looks and no action. Secondly, the other OS in my life, Ubuntu, will replaced with Open Solaris where my extracurricular open source development activity will be refocused.
I've been issued a Dell Studio 17 laptop from a customer. I know...but it was free. I want to run OpenSolaris 2009.06 natively on it. I have can not find an entry in BigAdmin explicitly stating OpenSolaris compatible with this particular Dell laptop. How has the OpenSolaris/Solaris laptop compatibility progressed? Suspend and Hibernate, backlit keyboard, web cam, etc? Has anyone out there had a go at the newer Dells or like model systems? Regards, Rafael -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
