Hi! i am trying to run ntpd on opensolaris (2009.6 sv123 and/or official 2009.6 release).
the package was found from the opensolaris.org, and installed sucessfully, but whatever the reason, the service could not be started. /var/svc/log/network-ntp4:default.log showed this error "ERROR: Configuration file '/etc/inet/ntp.conf' not found. See ntpd(1M) [ Sep 28 11:14:44 Method "start" exited with status 96] this is rather strange as there is a file /etc/inet/ntp.conf and i even change the permission to 777 the ntp.conf file was modified file from ntp.server (just edited default time source etc) svcs -xv ntp4 showed "Status: maintenace since ..." Reason: Start moethod exited with $SMF_EXIT_ERR_CONFIG. this has been same for both 123 and the official 2009.6 versions; any suggestions?? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
