Heard of that for Solaris 8, but not as far back as 2.5.1. Given that 2.5.1 isn't really supported anymore, at least according to how I read http://www.sun.com/service/eosl/solaris/solaris_vintage_eol_5.2005.xml then notwithstanding that there are still some people using it, I can't see why that would be done, even if it were possible (don't know if there are any major problems with that, although I suspect it might be considerably more difficult to support older releases, esp. older than 2.6 since the <= 2.5.1 libsocket probably wouldn't work anymore).
