For Solaris extra packages, one can use blastwave.org
http://www.blastwave.org/howto.html which provides pkg-get for installing
extra softwares. Also you can have look at http://sunfreeware.com .

If you want to set the keyboard layout you can set it in
/boot/solaris/bootenv.rc .Sample entry for UK keyboard would be
setprop keyboard-layout 'UK-English'

Xorg is auto-configured while stating up . It creates a hidden file
/etc/X11/.xorg.conf file. Which you can copy it to /etc/X11/xorg.conf file
and add your settings to it.
