Hi,
I have a root server I would like to install with opensolaris. Currently S10U7
is installed. At home I have set up a testsystem with a notebook (one one
internal ata drive and a usb hard disk). On the internal disk is s10u7
installed. On the usb disk I've created a solaris partition, a slice, an ufs
filesystem and I've tared the content of the live cd into the filesystem.
I've added an entry to the grub boot menu and can now boot the live
opensolaris from the usb disk and install to the internal ata disk.

So the testsystem works.

But the root server has a ICH10R Hardisk Controller operating in ahci mode. The
live image is unable to find its root and shows the "please login as
priviledged user" dialog. Any hints what how I can boot the live image of ahci
hard disks?

Thanks in advance Thomas
