Looks like X failed to start. As per: http://opensolaris.org/os/project/indiana/resources/relnotes/200805/getit/ "If you need to administer the system, you may require the username and password for the Live CD user - these are user jack and password jack. The root password is opensolaris." Login and check the /var/log/Xorg.0.log, See if gdm is running, svcs status gdm svcs -xv What kind of video card do you have? jlc
